an appeal, do you file it in superior court? I'm asking because I am having trouble finding information about criminal appeals from that court. Everything I find is for infractions.

CrRLJ 7.8 motions are filed in the trial court. The RALJ rules govern the process to file an appeal from the Municipal Court to the Superior Court.

I know your question references CrRLJ 7.8, but you should also look at CrRLJ 9.1. 9.1(c) - (f) explain the procedures for filing an appeal/notice of appeal after you have have been found guilty of a crime either by jury, judge (bench trial), or a signed stipulation form. In a 9.1 appeal, the notice of appeal is filed in the municipal court, and then the superior court is notified of the intent to appeal. Going through this process will take months, and having an attorney to help you through it would be a smart move.
