How long does immigration take to update new info on SAVE?

I received a E-2 Visa about one month ago and just went to the DMV to apply for a drivers license. They said they could not issue me a license since immigration had apparently not updated my visa info in SAVE yet. How long does this usually take? I was under the impression that I am only allowed to drive under my foreign license for 60 or 90 days.
