I got a MIC ticket yesterday, what can I expect in court?
Anonymous2 views1 answers
I am 19, this is the first ticket that I have ever gotten in my life. I was given a breathalyzer test after admitting to drinking previously that night. I don't know what the BAC was, they never showed or told me, nor is it written on the ticket.
What can I expect in court?
Would there be any type of diversion class, community service, or probation offered in the Florence Court?
I know the tickets can run up to $500, but what could it be for a first offense? I know it is all up to the Judge and the severity of the MIC but on average what would the fine be for first offense?
Any other information you could give me would be much appreciated. Thank you.
A minor in consumption of alcohol is a class one misdemeanor. The maximum penalty for a class one misdemeanor is 6 months in jail, $2,500 fine, and 2 years probation. Additionally, you will forever have a criminal conviction on your record, which could affect your education and employment. You need to take your case seriously and hire a lawyer. If you haven't done so already, I suggest letting your parents know so they can help you.
Good luck,
