Go to court and ask to speak to the prosecutor and see if it can be dismissed or amended to a lesser offense. In KY 16 mph over the posted limit is a $32.00 fine, court costs of approx. $135.00 and 6 points on your license. Maybe you want to go to traffic school to avoid the conviction. You can hire counsel to represent you and negotiate on your behalf.

Many courts in Massachusetts charge a fee to let you appeal a ticket. The worst consequence of a moving violation is to your auto insurance. You lose your safe driver discount, among other possible things. There are some attorneys who practice traffic law. Find one in your area and ask her/him what to do.
