I got staph during a breast augmentation do you think I would have a very strong case to sue my plastic surgeon?

I got staph in my left breast. My implants were put in through my armpit and my staph infection was at the bottom of my breast. My plastic surgeon had to remove my implant leaving me with another scar under my breast. So now I have one large breast with an implant in it and the other one looks very deformed with a big scar under it. Right after surgery I was taking the antibiotic to prevent infection but I thought I was allergic to it. I asked my doctor about it and he told me to just stop taking the antibiotic because there was no sign of infection and 3 days later I went to the clinic because my doctor kept telling me that they dont heal simultaneously and they would be fine. They did blood work at the clinic and found that my white blood cell count was at 22 and it should have been at 9

I'm sorry to hear about this terrible situation. No lawyer can tell you from a posting if there was malpractice, however, you can order all your medical records and bills and pick them up and take them to a local malpractice lawyer who can send them to an expert who will ascertain whether there was a breach of the standard of care. You can search 's "find a lawyer" for a med mal lawyer in your state who can investigate this claim.

Post surgical infections are an increasingly common and often seroius problem. Very few infection cases are strong cases, because infection is a risk of any surgery and some infections are highly resistant to treatment. However, the devil is in the details. Given the fact that you have apparently a very bad result, it would be work your while to speak to some medical malpractice lawyers. Such consultations are generally free. I do not recommend that you try to get your records first. In that I disagree with Mr. Lassen. Different lawyers proceed differently, and may have different opinions as to the merits of any given case. We have all had the experience of success in cases that other lawyers have turned down. So interview more than one lawyer and then decide how to proceed.
