Hi, I am an international student in OPT. My Employer intends to sue for the breach of NDA

My employer has made me sign the documents(NDA) stating that I cannot join Full time in a company where his company has placed me as a contractor. I worked for him for about an year and he ripped me off my salary, never paid me on time and the amount he promised(But I donot have any evidence of our salary agreement as it was all verbal). More over he never ran my payroll properly, I am working in North carolina and he always ran my payroll and taxes in Texas even after I insisted not to do it.The implementing partner of my client liked my work and offered me a full time and I informed my employer in an email about my resignation. After 2 months he is trying to threaten me by numerous calls from him and his lawyer stating to sue me. Can you please direct me on what I could do?

Hire experienced counsel immediately to advise you based on a detailed analysis of all relevant facts and circumstances. This is a complex circumstance involving issues of the enforceability of the NDA, whether applicable law was breached respecting your employment, and possibly other issues. You should not expect the level of analysis this situation requires from a free legal information forum. You need personalized legal advice from a lawyer who holds North Carolina licensure. Good luck.
