How do I get a TRO expunged? How do I get a TRO expunged?

My daughter hit me and left bruises that I have pictures of and then she called the police and made up a big story and filed a TRO against me. If I prove all of her lies in court were a big fabrication and that she needs drug intervention, how can I get the TRO off my record. Do you think I need a lawyer?

Yes, you need a lawyer. If it is dismissed, sometimes you can get the record sealed and off ccap.

You will want an attorney to attempt to convince a judge or family court commissioner that 1. the accusations are false and 2. it woudl be inappropriate for the case to remain public for all to see (even if the accusations were dismissed at a hearing). You will want an attorney who is familiar to the relevant court official and who is respected by the decisionmaker to make your arguments. I practice in La Crosse and would be happy to speak to you by phone. I have argued restraining orders in both counties, including a child abuse restraining order in Monroe County.

I have tried to remove TRO that have no merit before. In several different counties. The CCAP people do say that these can be removed by an order of the court. BUT... My experience is that it is easier to be elected Govenor than to get CCAP listing removed. I would be happy if they would even list them as "DISMISSED" rather than "CLOSED".
