We really need more information to be of assistance. At a trial setting conference, you will essentially be getting dates for trial. You should have a good idea of what you're hoping to achieve by going to trial, and a good idea of what evidence and witnesses will help you achieve that. If you are not prepared for this, you should definitely speak to an attorney.
If he has an attorney, you likely need one as well. If you don't have money, you should ask the judge to award you money to hire an attorney. Statute calls for both parties to have equal access. For further information, visit http://www.ellifritzlaw.com
The purpose of a TSC (Trial Setting Conference) is to report your readiness for trial and obtain trial dates from the Judge. Most Judges have a list of things they need completed prior to setting the case for trial, including but not limited to, complete exchange of Preliminary Declarations of Disclosures.
If you are NOT ready for trial, you need to report this to the Judge, and explain you will need an attorney to represent you.
First, if your husband has a lawyer, you should get one as well. A trial setting conference is where the court determines if the matter is ready to be set for a Mandatory Settlement Conference, and/or Trial. If you don't have a lawyer, I would bet that proper discovery has not been completed yet. Don't delay any longer in getting representation.
