I received a ticket for fare evasion on the St. Louis metrolink. I paid the $80 fine. Now I am applying to grad schools, some of which ask whether I have any misdemeanors or felonies. Is fare evasion a misdemeanor in St. Louis, MO? Is it a citation? Does it go on my record? Will it affect my driver's insurance rates? Help is much appreciated.

It's not a moving violation, so it will not be reported on your driving record. Since it won't be on your driving record, no insurance agent will be able to see it. You can always purchase a criminal background check to see what comes up on your criminal record prior to applying to graduate school. An attorney can run your criminal background report, and there are many websites online that offer this service for a small fee. I believe a ticket for fare evasion on the St. Louis Metrolink is a misdemeanor.
