I was recently denied a Federal job because of something my parents did 30 yrs ago. I was not even born yet!

I met all the requirements for the position and was told I was very suitable. But then they say that I can't get the job because my parents entered this country illegally 30 yrs ago. Even though they became residents before I was born. Is this discrimination??

It's potentially a Title VII violation. You should consider filing a charge first with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission at http://www.eeoc.gov/phoenix/index.html and if they don't prosecute, seek out an employment lawyer.
