How to obtain a Transit visa for Canada without the original of I-94?

I am a citizen of Kazakhstan. Have been in the US since 2008 on H1-B visa. I am planning to travel to Israel On June11, and my flight has a transfer in Toronto, so I need to obtain a Transit visa for Canada. The problem is that I do not have the original of the I-94 form. But I do have a notarized copy of it. Will I be able to get a visa even though I do not have the original?

Attorneys on practice US law. They cannot advise you on the laws and requirements of other countries. You need to contact an attorney in the country in question.

You need to speak to an attorney that handles immigration in Canada or call the Canadian consulate to ensure the exact procedure and requirements. Since a friend just recently applied for one, I know that a Transit Visa is similar to a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). You need to fill out the TRV application. You need to apply at least 30 days in advance of your departure (or 8 weeks if you mail it in). Good luck. Marc Taylor, Esq.
