the er dr told dcfs that i shoved my son so hard that he fell out of his chair. this was an outright lie and retaliation for asking her name so i could report her for being rude, unprofessional, and not doing her job. i know they are protected by laws for reporting some one so i cant sue. Is there any legal action i can take. dcfs pulled my children out of class and asked them what happened. i asked my son to move 3 times and he didnt so i raised my voice and told him to move. i never put my hands on him. dcfs determined in talking to my children that it never happen and are dismissing the case altogether. i am working with the company shes employed with to get her in trouble for fasley reporting me but is there anything else i can. i feel its not enough. she tried to make me lose my kids.

You already have the answer as to the statutory immunity of the reporter but it is not disclosed what the motive is of the ER doctor making a bad faith report or if the DCFS investigation is still pending. Generally this would not fall under the "Libel/ slander" category as such reports are confidential and subsequently destroyed in most cases when "unfounded"
