Sending something to a persons home or place of work. I was thinking Slander/ libel or defamation of character. If the things mentioned are true can they still press charges?

Truth is an absolute defense to defamation (including slander and libel). You can be sued, but the other party will not win if you can prove the truth of what you have said or written.

If what you said was true, charges cannot be pressed with a couple of exceptions. If the information you revealed was confidential and potentially harmful, you could be sued for invasion of privacy or for placing the other party in a false light. And if the information you revealed was literally truthful, but misleading because it omitted other facts necessary to put the information in fair context, then you still could be sued for defamation. Thus, while truth is always a defense, you still need to think about what it means to tell the truth. And if the truth reveals harmful confidences and/or places someone's reputation in a false light, you still could be liable for damages.
