How long does a record reported by IL to the National Driver Register remain on file?

I have record on the National Driver Register from the state of IL. This record is 20 years old and is preventing me from obtaining a DL in AZ where I now live. I have had no driving arrests or convictions in any state since 1991 in IL. Can and/or should IL remove the record on my NDR file and how do I go about getting that done if that is the case?

No, you cannot get a NDR entry removed for age. You must clear the suspension in IL to get the NDR cleared. You will probably need a lawyer in IL. Wayne R. Foote, Esq. Maine lawyers should not be answering IL legal questions. It is a revocation not a suspension. As a result you must have an administrative hearing with the Il Sec of State. You can submit a packet or come here for an in person hearing. Packet decisions take 6 months. Hearing decisions take 6 weeks. Don't try it on your own; I have represented hundreds of people all over the country and when they try on their own, they complicate things. The process looks deceptively simple. It is not
