My employer breached our written contract. Should I take him to small claims court?

The contract was a written agreement for me to work for 200 hours of manual labor in exchange for a truck valued at $1,000. He is now selling the truck without reimbursing me for my labor. I worked for 40 hours and have received no form of payment for any work that i have done. Is it worth it to take him to court?

Yes, it is definitely worth it to take him to small claims court. The filing fees are $45 and what do you have really to lose? You did work for $1,000 of value or a truck and received neither.

It sounds like a worthwhile case. You've received nothing for your labor. You can find forms and instructions for filing a small claims case in the Forms & Links section of my website below.
