Divorce non-compliant respondent. Filed contempt motion, held hearing, respondent still non-compliant. What now?

Divorce non-compliant respondent. Filed contempt motion, held hearing, judge ordered ex-spouse to comply within 2 weeks. She did not. My lawyer sent judge a letter advising of non-compliance after 2 weeks of harrassment by me to do something. Called clerk of court and was told letters are meaningless. Need a motion or another contempt filing. My lawyer has moved me down to low priority. This is determined from not returning calls and basically ignoring me. So now I am stuck in limbo. Respondent non-compliant, lawyer non responsive, and terms of divorce not fulfilled. What do I do now? Thank you.

You need to get a hold of your lawyer - no other lawyer can represent you until your current lawyer withdraws from your case. Make sure you actually have a finding of contempt --read the documents from your last court appearance. If you have a finding of contempt and "purge conditions" have not been met, then you may be able to seek jail time. If so, then you need a bench warrant filed -- and you really should have that done by your attorney. Good luck. How frustrating...

You need a new lawyer. Seek one of the many attorneys who do return phone calls.
