Can deportation be overturned for domestic violence

my live in boyfriend and i had a fight cuz he was drunk. He got arrested on 2/18/2009 and deported 4/1/2009. We now have a 2 month old baby that he has not met yet and it's killing him. We are still together and have forgiven eachother. Since then he has stopped drinking and smoking. He's really not a bad person and in the heat of my anger i called the police. I am currently saving up to go to mexico to visit him but i'm also saving up to pay his way back here to be with us. is there any way if i marry him in mexico if we can overturn his deportation and give him a lighter sentence beside a deportation for life? I really need some help on this matter.
