I do not know what a U visa is, but assuming this is an immigration question, I am treansferring this to the immigration attorneys.

That question can't be answered based on that information alone. Consult a local immigration attorney.

U visa status may be available for victims of domestic violence crimes. To be eligible, you must meet certain requirements including being a victim of domestic violence and have suffered physical or mental abuse as a result of having been a victim . Talk to an immigration attorney immediately with all your available information.

What you stated alone will not qualify you for a U visa. A U visa is for a victim or a crime where the prosecuting agency will sign a form stating the individual aided in the prosecution. Regards, Nick Misiti Misiti Global 212 537 4407

Not on the facts you provided. If there are other facts not included in your posting, the answer could be different.

You might be eligible for filing under VAWA for permanent residency if your father is a USC or LPR. Also, since you are young, you might look at DED as proposed by Obama (something like the Dream Act) which was announced just recently.

Did your mother file charges against your father? She may be elgible for a U visa or VAWA and you could potentially be a beneficiary on these applications. You should contact an immigration attorney and review all the facts of your case to determine what avenues of relief are available to you. Mary E. Bluma Immigration Attorney (773) 235-9300
