How do I prove that my vehicle has not been driven for six months?

My car has not been driven since December 2011. My ex wife falsely accused me of being at her house in my vehicle on 04/17/12 which would violate a no contact order. I have no other way to prove that I was not there at the time she has alleged. She also managed to get another witness to claim that I was there . An officer contacted me that day yet it took two months for a charge to be filed. Why would it take so long? Two months seems ridiculous. The car does not start and I haven't even touched it since December. The last person who drove it parked it in a garage in December. By the way, the car is a 1997 model.

It is hard to prove a negative. The fact that your car does not drive is not proof that you didn't use some other means to getting to the house. However, if you wife insists that you drove that car, establishing that it was not drivable at that time could be used to undermine her credibility, slightly.Perhaps a mechanic could help in this regard. If you have no specific alibi putting you elsewhere at that time, it will be your word v. your ex-wife's. Talk to a lawyer. Good luck.
