If I never signed a lease with the new property management can they automatically renew my lease based on terms of the former?

We were informed by our most recent property manager that we failed to sign a 90 day lease renewal notifiation and in turn our lease was automatically renewed. Now in order to break the lease the renewal we most pay three months rent after vacating. If a new leasing agreement with the current property owner was never sign, do they have the authority to automatically renew the lease with higher rates.

If your former lease states that it automatically renews unless 90 days notice of termination is provided, then yes, it can automatically renew. You need to look at the language in your lease to determine if the LL had this right. If they did, then they can likely hold you to 90 days rent to terminate at this time. If this is a commercial lease they can likely hold you to even more rent on termination than the 90 days. If it is a residential lease the PA Landlord/Tenant Act will also apply. Please note that you have not given a lot of details on this question. I have provided merely a generic reply, not based on your specific facts.
