I lost my temporary green card (2 yr conditional residence) and the I-551 stamp on passport also expired.Can i travel out of US?

the I-551stamp is valid for a year from the date i entered into US. It expired on 05-12-2012. Now i have to travel to india to attend a funeral and its urgent.. what should i do since i neither have my green card nor is the stamp valid? I have recently applied for a replacement green card I-90 form.. please advice .Its urgent.

Not without a valid I-551 stamp in your passport. You need to do an InfoPass.

You need to schedule an INFOPASS appointment to speak to someone at your local USCIS office about having a new stamp on your passport.

Don't travel without documents. Make an InfoPass appointment ... otherwise you'll be looking at a lengthy process of getting documents from the US Consul in India.

Go online to www.USCIS.gov and schedule an infopass appointment. They should be able to assist.
