Depending on the contents of the agreement and its execution (signatures), it may well be valid.

The fact that the agreement is hand-written as opposed to typed has no effect on whether or not the agreement is valid. Whether or not the agreement is valid, depends on whether the elements of a contract have been met and whether there is any reason the contract is not enforceable (i.e. illegality). The agreement needs to be reviewed by an attorney for that determination to be made.

As stated by the other two attorneys, An agreement does not have to be typed to be valid. A handwritten agreement that provides a bargained for exchange and is specific in its terms (e.g., you do this and I do that by x date) is a binding agreement so long as the parties intended it to be binding and had the capacity to enter into the contract (over the age of 18 and not mentally incapacitated or under duress). Some types of contracts, however, will require more details to be enforceable. Unfortunately, contracts law while simple has many intricacies and an attorney would need to review the contract to determine its validity with any sort of certainty. Disclaimer.
