US Citizenship interview coming up. Have had 2 traffic tickets. Need proof of dismissal? Any problems?

My US Citizenship interview is coming up. The first ticket was for a minor offense - 3 years ago. The second was for speeding, going 47 in a 20 school zone - but everything has been taken care of. The fine was $300 and the condition is that I should not get another ticket for 6 months [till September]. I have: - a printout of an email from my attorney that everything has been taken care of. - the defensive driving certificate - the driver record - a printout from the court's website which shows that nothing shows up with my license number or car's license plate Do I need to take anything else to my interview? Do I need to get something in writing from the court that everything has been taken care of?

You should be fine with what you have. Civil infractions (most traffic tickets like the one you described) are not a problem. The problems start with the criminal cases (only a few traffic citations are criminal in nature).

A copy of the court file is always better than Internet and e-mail print-outs. None, the less, you should be OK. Take a lawyer to the interview with you. Franco Capriotti 1-503-803-0055 Capriotti International Law www.capriotti.com [email protected] SKYPE 3-WAY VIDEO AVAILABLE
