i keep getting in the mail about a sunpass toll violation. All it says on it is that i owe $48.00 on it. Is this true? I am going to pay it but am scare that they will tell me that i owe civil penalties fees. Can my license get suspended when i pay for it and they find out that it is two years old?

They certainly can tell you that you owe penalties, but I'd think those would be included in the $48 they are demanding in payment. Who is demanding payment? The state, directly? Or some collection agency? Whether or not your license can be suspended I can't say, but I'd think it already would have been suspended if they were going to do it since the bill is 2+ years old.

That is the amount you owe, pay it. Your license will not be suspended if you pay what they say you owe. Keep copies of everything, including the check you send in.

Failure to pay a SunPass violation can lead to a civil penalty on top of the original toll violation, court cost assessments and the suspension of your license. However, this is an unlikely outcome for one violation and would require that the violation go unpaid. Make sure you keep a record of your payment.
