Maryland resident with out of state DUI conviction and 12 points on license after DUI transferred to Maryland

Do I have to get an interlock to receive my restricted license?
I had administartive hearing for a license revocation following the 12 points, and the office administrative hearings opted to suspend my license for 90 days instead of the revocation and modified it to a work restricted license. The judge did not mention anything about an interlock, and stated that the MVA will just give me my license when the hold is removed from the other state. Will the MVA make me get an interlock to obtain the work restricted license? No one has mentioned anything to me about it?
If the Administrative Judge at your Maryland MVA hearing did not order ignition interlock, then you should not be required to have interlock to regain your full driving privileges. The out of state jurisdiction cannot require you to have interlock as a condition of any sentence it imposed. The 12 points transferred to your Maryland license pursuant to the drivers license interstate compact. Because of the DUI conviction and corresponding 12 points, you faced a possible revocation, however as you stated, the Administrative Law Judge ordered a 90 days suspension and a work restriction only. Therefore, I believe after the 90 days have passed, you should walk into MVA and have the restriction removed and your full driving privileges will be restored with no interlock requirement. That is a very good disposition from your MVA Hearing.
Attorney Yolles may be correct, but my concern is the "hold" on your privilege by the other state. Any situation that involves another state"s "hold" has the potential to be complex. It always sounds simple to say that the license will issue one the other state is cleared, but it devil is in clearing the other state. I advise you to be proactive and retain counsel if necessary to determine what the other state may require to lift their hold.
