Daycare expenses and child support.

2 views 1 answers
I have been paying daycare since day one which is automatically deducted from my check with the child support. It says on the Michigan formula: 3.06(D) Presume that the need for child care continues until August 31 following the child’s twelfth birthday. At the court’s discretion, the child care support obligation may continue beyond that date as a child’s health or safety needs require. My child is almost 13 (nothing requiring special care), does this mean this part of the support will drop off on its own at the end of the month or do I need to request it.?

You can hope, or you can make sure. Call the Macomb County Friend of the Court and confirm the child care contribution is set to expire this August 31. They are usually preety good, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
