I am divorced, and have been for some time. I am going to be remarried soon, will my previous divorce show up on our new license

We don't want his family finding out about my previous (short) marriage. Or will it only be shown when applying for the initial license?

A marriage license is not a report of your past. It is literally only a license to get married. Put another way, it is evidence of permission from the state to get married and be recognized legally as a married couple. Thus, your past will not appear on your license. The agency granting and issuing the license will want to know, and may even seek proof of the divorce - just to make sure you are legally qualified to get married. But that is all. The person performing the ceremony won't even know of your previous marriage unless you tell him/her. Best of luck, and congratulations.
