An employer sent my last check to a wrong address and refuses to resend or allow me pick it up, what do I do?

I worked one day and got fired because I have a felony. I worked with a friend I live with and just got his check the other day but mine didn't show up, I called him and asked if he could resend it or if i could pick it up, he immediatly got hostile and told me "Too f***ing bad, not my problem" and hung up, I called him back and said I wanna come pick it up or something and he started yelling at me on the phone about how I'm a pos because I'm a felon and if I come to his buisness he is calling the police and going to try and get me thrown in jail. I just want what is owed to me and IDK what to do. I told him I will bring the police when I showed up and will try and press charges for Theft of Services but he just called me a retard and that I'm too dumb to do anything to him.

Send the company a letter by certified mail. Keep the letter very brief, a couple sentences. In the letter simply write how you are requesting payment for the day you worked and include in the letter your mailing address. If you do not receive payment within a couple days from the company receiving your letter, then go ahead and give me or other attorneys like me (those who offer free consultations) a call and we'll further advise on what can be done. If the company does not pay you in a timely fashion upon written demand then pursuant to Minnesota law the company could end up owing you a couple weeks pay as punishment. Adam W.
