My son's doctor posted an essay making a joke of his near death accident on a personal blog site.

My son just found it but it was posted in 2010. My son was a minor at the time and while the doctor didn't use his real name, he made up a sick one instead. Said he changed his name to protect the stupid. He wrote a disgusting parody of a child almost dying and even wrote that he discussed it with his wife! The doctor posted his own name and medical credentials and what hospital he worked at!
My son is humiliated and I am beside myself. I took a copy of it to the business that oversees him and other doctors and I will do the same with the 2 hospitals he is affiliated with and the Dept. of Health and Human Services. Do I sue him or the hospitals? What exactly can I sue him for?
Wow -- what a story.
I am sorry your son has had a reaction to this. Youc an certainly sit down with a personal injury attorney to discuss your options. Ultimately, the question is how does embarrassment translate into money damages.
Personally, as disgusting an act as the Dr. committed, I do not think the action is a basis for a law suit. I think you have otherwise done what can be done in respect to such an obviously heartless person.
In addition to the comments posted by these other fine attorneys, you can also find the Doctor's profile here on and rate him so others can see it. BUT, be careful what you post so he doesn't sue you. Good Luck!
I don't think you can sue him at all. Only you know that this pertains to your son. In fact, it could very well be someone else with a similar story. I think he protected himself properly by not using any names.
