How many times can you expect to go to court if you get a DUI in the state of Oregon and about how long will it take to resolve the matter. It is the first DUI ever.

This depends on the evidence against you and the choice you make as far as to plead or go to trial. I suggest hiring an attorney in your area well known for dui defense who can review the case and see if the officer performed all tests correctly. A court case is not the time to be concerned with running through the case quickly especially a DUI. DUI's carry lifelong penalties so make sure you do it right the first time. Good luck.

If you can afford a dui attorney, then hire one. If you can't afford an attorney, ask for the public defender. A skilled attorney should review the police report. Your concern should not be about how many court dates it will take to resolve the matter. Rather, you should be concerned about the evidence, and the strength of the prosecutor's case. Many cases settle within a couple of court dates if there is a solid case.
