If I get my DUI expunged will it help me obtain a New Mexico drivers license without a interlock device?

I got a DUI in 09/2007 in California and recently moved back to NM. I went to get a drivers license and they told me that I need to get an interlock system in my car for up to year. I have only had one DUI and since then I have not even recieved and speeding ticket. Any advice?

If you get your DUI expunged that will probably do it. However, getting a DUI expunged is not easy nor can anyone promise it. The cost of the lawyer who can do that is likely to be much more than the cost of an IID for one car for one year.
