I need proof of my BAC
Anonymous2 views3 answers
I need proof of my BAC for the Sect of State in Illinois to reinstate my driving license. I received the DUI 14 years ago, and the state is requiring an evaluation at a drug/alcohol counseling center. The center is requiring proof of my BAC from that night, but the police department informed me they only keep them for 7 years, and it has since been destroyed. Where else can I obtain proof of my BAC?
If you go to the clerk of the court's office usually they will retain certain records relating to your arrest.
Those records may include a copy of your complaint or advisory ,copy of your citation, or a copy of your judgment and sentence. Some or all of these official court documents may reflect your blood alcohol level.
Also, check with your DMV (or the Secretary of State if IL) for their file records.
If all else fails, get written notices from places that they have no record and give those to the evaluator.
Secretary of State, Dept of Driver Services will sell you a copy for $1.00. That report will also help you and the evaluator determine what time you were arrested, what time you tested and typically, the reason you were stopped. This info is needed for the evaluation. I hope you are using an ILL evaluator . I do hundreds of out of state cases and very, very few evaluators out of state know what to do even though it seems easy. Also, if you live more than 30 miles from the border, if your last offense was more than 10 years ago and if you have never gotten reinstated before, I am not sure who is telling you that you need an evaluation. You would be eligible for a P10 packet.
