Am I allowed to throw away bloody tissues in the normal trash?

Is there some special procedure I should follow for disposing of biohazardous materials if I get a cut or bloody nose? Should I wrap it up? Flush it? Just pitch it in the trash like everything else?

No special disposal procedures are required unless you have reason to believe that you have a communicable blood-borne disease. If you have such a disease, consult with your doctor about effective measures for disposing of medical waste and refuse.
