I signed a C&R for 28,000.00. I resigned from my job but never got my settlement check. I was told that the C&R was suspended by the judge and there is a status conference in December. I need the money before that and I dont know what to do. Please help

There is a saying about counting your chickens before they hatch....The Carrier has 25-30 days to pay, but that does not start until the Judge signs the Order. Oddly, the suspension usually involves more money in an unrepresented case, and disposition of the medical liens in represented cases.

Who told you the C&R was suspended by the Judge? Your attorney? If so, you should be talking to him and asking why. If not, by whom? The Notice of Hearing setting the case for conference may have an explanation at the bottom. You might be able to contact the insurance company and ask for an advance payment of part of the settlement....maybe....

Based on the limited facts we cannot answer your question. The judge suspending or not approving settlement can be various reasons. You have to speak with your attorney.

It sounds like you do not have representation. I suggest you get someone involved promptly. However, generally the carrier has thirty (30) days to pay the C&R, thereafter interest begins to accrue.
