Can we sue the performance shop and how do we stop the mechanic's lien?

My husband paid a performance shop $13,000.00 to install a new engine in his truck. Upon picking the truck, it did not run right. He called, they told him it still needed to be tuned. He took it to their recommended turner. It still didn't run right. They told him he would have to pay to tow it back to them to look at it. They told us we would have to pay them more money to fix it. We refused to pay them anymore money because they didn't do the job properly that we already paid for. They are now trying to charge us storage fees and have put a mechanic's lien on the truck for the new charges after it was towed back, and storage fees. What can we do to stop them from putting the truck up for auction, and can we sue them for the money we paid?

Immediately hire an attorney to protect yourselves. Mechanic's liens are powerful tools and like all powerful things can be abused. If you don't act quickly, the truck may disappear into the hands of a bona fide purchaser for value without notice, leaving you with much more limited remedies. Good luck.
