Can I win an unemployment telephone appeal without a lawyer?

After working as a delivery driver for the same company for close to 8 years, I was let go due to a license suspension for an alleged DUI. I was riding a mechanically poor small scooter one weekend while not anywhere near work. First time error in judgement, no malice intended, single incident. I was told to come back to work once my license was straightened out. My unemployment claim was denied. How will I fare at my upcoming telephone hearing with or without a lawyer of which, for obvious reasons cannot afford anyway. Thanks for your time.

It is not fair to make a prediction on how you will fair. In terms of an attorney, you will always be better off with an attorney than without. One big problem is that most states are very employer oriented. Therefore, it seems like an uphill battle.
