Does our church need both a Constitution or Bylaws or one or the other?

Our church was un-incorporated until just a few ago, a question has come up with needing to print more copies. My master copy is the last Constitution of the church prior to its incorporating. What should we do?
By-Laws govern over an incorporated church. The terms in your Constitution can, and likely should, be able to be integrated into the By-Laws. If the Church incorporated itself without legal assistance, the officers of the church need to sit down with an attorney local to you and learn what it means to be incorporated as well as get your papers completed correctly.
Good Luck...

Many churches form a Non-Profit Corporation in the State where they are located and set up ByLaws that govern the operation of that non-profit entity. This is a good time for your pastor, elders, and board of directors to sit down with a Corporate Attorney, and merge your pre-incorporation Constitution into a comprehensive set of By-Laws that wold apply not only today but in situations that may arise in the future. Best of Luck!
