Divorce mediation in Austin/Round Rock area

5 views 3 answers
I was hoping someone could recommend an attorney/mediator in the Round Rock/Austin area that is able to mediate between two parties. In this case, the divorce is uncontested and both parties simply want a fair result. We're both interested in someone who is not likely to bias their recommendations based on gender or simply assume that women are, by definition, always the victim. There are no children. Thanks in advance!

Why not google family law mediators in the Round Rock area and see who is available. They will likely post their resumes on line and you and your spouse can pick. Mediators ordinarily don't make recommendations. They broker deals between parties who want to settle their litigation.

Some mediators I know, work with, and recommend in the Round Rock/Austin area are: Josh Murray, Brenda Rhea, Mark Sims, Courtney Harper. There are many more that are also good. I don't know if any of them work directly with two parties, because as an attorney I normally work with them in cases where the parties have attorneys. There is also the Dispute Resolution Center, which is on 35N in Austin, it's somewhat less expensive, and you can set up a mediation there with parties who don't have an attorney. I agree with Attorney Moore, that the function of the mediator is not to make recommendations, but rather to facilitate communication between you with a goal to reach an agreement. Good luck to you.
