Ex has a warrant out for arrest, if kids are with him when he gets arrested what will happen to the kids?

I have sole legal and physical custody of my children and my ex has visitation rights. He has not paid any child support($34,700 to be exact) and failed to show up to his hearing and now has a arrest warrant out in his name. If during one of his visitations he happens to get pulled over and arrested what will happen to my children? Will I be informed and be able to pick up my kids right away or will there be some kind of court preceding before I can get my children back? Please someone help me for he is asking to pick up my children next weekend and I am hesitant to send them with him. Thank you.

Have the police pick him up your kids need the child support I suggest having police waiting for him when you know he is coming over, although it is better if they get him away from your house. If children are with him then the police will call you got get them.

The police would normally arrest him and make contact with a relative to come pick the children up. Hopefully he would give the police your name and telephone number to contact. If you want to avoid this possibility, and he exercises parenting time on a regular basis, you could inform the court and/or authorities as to when he will be picking up the children so he can be taken into custody before parenting time commences.
