A relative used my name w/o permission to get a credit card. I discovered when applying for a mortgage. What are my options?

I have very good credit and was approved for a $170K mortgage anyway. We are talking about nearly $250K on my credit report that is not my debt. Because of my age, I want to downsize my home and decrease my expenses. Even though I was approved for the loan, I am insecure about also taking on the responsibility of a new home loan when there is a possibility that he might default on his portion of the fraudulent debts. I do not want to bring charges against him. What advice can you give me?
