How does a person receive money from pain and suffering?

My soon to be ex wife is harassing me via text, contacting place of employment and places I frequent. She's ruining my life and I feel threatened. How can I get some compensation? I feel I deserve it.

Assuming that there is a divorce action filed here, you will need to raise these issues in that matter. The court hearing that action may make orders to limit or prohibit her conduct. It is not likely that you can make any claim for damages or other compensation on these allegations.

Ms. McCall is fully correct, of course, but be aware that the law is ill-suited to making people behave with kindness, or even civility, to others. Your strong reaction occurs because she knows how to "flip your switch" and selfishly thinks doing so more and harder is a good thing to do. Your best immediate defense is to learn to control the switch. Very brief professional counseling can do that. As to third parties she is trying to involve, understand that nobody likes getting dragged into someone else's contentious divorce, and her efforts to make you look bad go a long way toward making her look worse. Best wishes for an outcome you can accept, and please remember to designate best answer.

I agree with both previous counsel. Their advice is pertinent and on point. Rudeness is not actionable at law. However, you may want to bring your wife's behavior to the attention of the court. You may also want to present evidence of her contacts with your place of employment and statements that she is making that you contend are ruining your life. The Judge may admonish your wife not to contact you at work, unless there is a legitimate reason for it. Best of luck.
