Where can I get a certificate of no appeal of divorce that was ended in 2005? We spent over 2 years in family court regarding my ex's relocation and custody. Also, I will need a copy of my previous marriage from 1999, and I don't know where to ask for it? Help please! I am trying to remarry overseas, and I have been asked to bring these documents. I only have my divorce document and I am having a hard time looking for the items above. Thank you for your help.

Generally what you would be seeking is a "Sealed" copy of your Final Judgment of Divorce. You can seek a copy of the same from the staff at Family Intake in the County where your divorce was granted. In the event your file has been relocated out of the county the staff at Family Intake can offer you a form to fill out to secure a copy or direct you to the proper department in Trenton where a "Sealed" copy can be secured from.

I believe that certain countries like France and Italy require a "Certificate of Non-Appeal". This is not a court document since in the United States, a final judgment of divorce is presumed to be final. I have provided a link from the French Consulate that gives instructions as to how to prepare such a notice, which is prepared by an attorney in this State who attests that the time to appeal such a judgment has expired. Then it is translated into French (or Italian, I presume the instructions would be the same, but you can check with the consulate if you are moving to a different country than France).
