I would like to get my speeding ticket fine reduced in court.

I received a ticket for going 67 in a 40 mph zone. I was in a 2013 Ford Focus rental, as my 2006 Ford Focus was in the shop. A car pulled out in front of me. I changed lanes and applied the accelerator to go around the car. The '13 Focus has a much quicker response than my '06 and when I looked down, the speedometer was in the 60's. I slowed down as quickly and as safely as I could, but was pulled over after the next intersection. It seems there was a hidden officer with a radar gun that recorded my speed. I accepted my ticket politely. I work for a small trucking company, and getting a major violation can affect my employment, as I am listed as a sometimes driver for the trucks that don't require a CDL.

Just go to court, and ask the prosecutor to reduce your speed to 54 in a 40 mph zone. Since you're not a CDL this won't go on your driving history.

You need to speak with a local attorney in Carrollton. It would appear that a guilty plea will affect your employment. You never mention if you have a CDL, or want to get a CDL. An attorney should be able to negotiate with the solicitor so this will not appear on your driving record.

Prosecutors have discretion to reduce tickets, as long as they don't abuse that discretion. Losing a employment is a good reasons for a prosecutor to reduce the charges in exchange for a plea. It is also a good reason to retain an attorney to handle this matter for you. You have a lot more at stake than just a fine.
