We had a boat dock built by a contractor. He had a carport done for the roof of the deck by the carport company.

The contractor was present when the carport was placed on the dock. The carport was placed shoddily. There are cracks in the metal posts and rust stains all over the brand new composite wood deck. Numerous calls to the carport company placed by us were not returned. We informed the BBB. They contacted the company who told the BBB they would call us. Did not happend. What do we do next?

If the carport company is a subcontractor of your contractor (i.e., your contractor retained them to do the work), it is your contractor responsibility. You call the contractor, and say "fix it". Hopefully, you also did not pay in full to the contractor (depends on your state law), which gives them a little incentive to get things done correctly. Good luck.
