If my wife gets put on probation does that affect my rights to own fire arms in my own home?

it is a non violent crime which she did not even commit and she is being strong armed into accepting a plee bargain of 3 years probation and a class 5 felony. The public defender did not get all the evidence tht was needed to prove beyond a doubt that no crime was commited and was sure it would be dismissed, it wasnt. she was told she had 7 days to decide before she went to trial, due to the lack of evidence thanks to to our outstanding public defender she is seriously considering taking the plee.

DO NOT KEEP ANY FIREARMS IN YOUR HOME!!! Although Arizona law requires your wife to exercise dominion and control, this has been loosely interpreted to mean that any gun that the person COULD POTENTIALLY ACCESS is possessed by them. I've seen cases with trigger locks and in locked gun cases and prosecutors and judges will still hold the probationer accountable because they theoretically could possess the weapon. "Well they could have gotten a blow torch and cut open the safe." Seriously. That's how ridiculous it gets. You have no idea how un-gun-friendly Arizona is until you are a convicted felon or know someone who is.

I'm going to dive in and ask you what the evidence is that would show her to be innocent. If there is such evidence, is it possible for your to collect it and provide it to the public defender? They work with limited time and budgets. Often times, you can help in the investigation which helps them to do a better job. I agree with the lawyer above that if she can't have a gun that you are better off not having guns in the house.
