Legal Custody 2 views 1 answers
My childs father has never kept a job. My mother and I have been the sole supporters of my child. Regardless, I have always made sure He could spend time with her as long as I knew where she was and it was safe for her. On three differant occasions he has dissapeared with her and I had to search for her.My daughter deserves to see her dad but I cant trust him. He has her as we speak. He was supposed to keep in contact with me and he hasent. I found out that he has been camping with her for four days in 100 degrees heat in a tent with no hook ups. I told him I was coming to get her and he said no, and I drove two and a half hours and they were not there. He has not contacted me. He has no money ,. All I need is legal custody agreement with organized visitation that he has to follow..

First, your question is difficult to answer without more information. Is there a divorce/child custody agreement in place already? If so, you would need to modify that. If not, you would need to file a SAPCR (suit affecting parent child relationship) to set up custody/child support. You could file a case without a lawyer. However, custody cases are very difficult for the pro se litigant. I would advise calling around until you find a lawyer who can work with you financially. Legal aid is always an option, but they take very few cases. If there is back child support owed you could call the Attorney General for assistance. The AG is free, but not fast. DISCLAIMER- This is not legal advise. Consult with an attorney before choosing any course of conduct.
