I got a speeding ticket by laser radar. How can I get a copy of the laser picture taken by the officer?

I filed by pro se a motion for discovery and the judge denied my motion. I am set for trial in November of 12 but I need to get a copy of the laser picture. There were 3 automobiles pulled over at the same time. There was on vehicle in front of me and one behind me. I was not speeding and I do not see how the officer could have got a laser reading on my vehicle.

If you had a lawyer your lawyer could use subpoena power (which is not available to a non laywer) Because discovery was denied, the best you can do on your own is hope the prosecutor uses it in the case in chief against you.

I must respectfully disagree with Alan James Brinkmeier. You don't need to be an attorney to cause a subpoena to be issued. If you're representing yourself pro se, you can absolutely subpoena anything that a lawyer could on your behalf.

You may be able to get the picture, but using it effectively at trial, without knowing the law or anyting about trial procedure, may present a serious problem for you. Anything worth doing is worth doing correctly. There are lawyers practicing in your area who specialize in defending people accused of traffic offenses. These lawyers typically charge fees that are well within the reach of folks of average means. I suggest that you consult such a lawyer right away. Without a lawyer, you will have little or no chance of winning, even if you are innocent and deserve to win. Good luck.
