How do you deal with prejudice in the courtroom?

Queens County I am facing a judge whom seems to be imposing an incredible amount of bias in my case. I was remanded in my last court appearance for about 30 minutes on the basis that I arrived to court a few minutes late and he believed I was lying about appointing a new lawyer. He never allows me to explain my conditions. He continues to convey allegations of me being stubborn as facts. I have this feeling that the judge knows this case is extremely weak and is seeking to get this case dismissed or a mistrial, on a prejudicial basis. It is obvious that his actions have not incited any hostility in return and maybe this is the only way for the court to not take a loss. This is all pure speculation and the motives of this judges prejudice can not be understood from a person in my shoes.

You may want to explore your options In getting that Judge recused based upon his prior comments to you. I would contact an experienced defense lawyer in your town and get his or her opinion on the facts of your case. You may be able to remove that judge off your case.

It is very difficult to get a judge removed from a case. It is even harder to do on your own. You need to get your lawyer involved.

It is very hard to get a judge to recuse. Defendants are expected to be in court on time. The line in Queens can be very long - it goes out the door and up the block - so you need to leave enough time.
