What are the consequences for violating court ordered custody orders?

Bankruptcy and Debt 2 views 2 answers
My ex husband has violated the custody orders by taking our son out of state without telling me and also drinking alcohol. The judge ordered him to not drink 24 hours prior to having visitation and not at all during the visitation weekend. He took our son to Vegas for his wedding which included a reception with alcohol. Our son witnessed the drinking by my ex and told me. Also, ex has refused to attend rehab which was court ordered. What do I do in this situation? Who do I tell and what is the punishment?

Time is of the essence. You are probably in a position to have father's Parenting Time modified, potentially to supervised only. All of your objections appear to be valid complaints that the judge will not take lightly. You should take all of your documents and see an experienced family law attorney for guidance right away. I agree wholeheartedly with my colleague Mr. Sampair. What was dad thinking taking son to his wedding? He didn't think there might be drinking involved? Unbelivable. Definitely you have cause for action to get the current orders enforced and maybe even cause to get the custody orders modified in your favor. Best of luck!
