For the purpose of I-485 form in the question asking to list all memberships and affiliations do you need to include even memberships in professional societies, eg. American Medical Association etc.?

It is always best to disclose those memberships so that you cannot be accused of trying to hide or misrepresent your activities. Plus, being a member of the AMA is a good thing and helps to establish that you probably have the requisite good moral character.
